I'm Back


After being sick for a week and a half I finally ran today. I tried to run once last week and it was so hard to breathe and I just felt awful so I rested all week. I am still not 100% better but I am better enough to run(with a cough drop in my mouth and lots of water).



ANyways, I found out today the 1/2 marathon is the first weekend in May... so as of today I have 11 weeks left. I am doing a 9 week training program so I won't officially start "training" until Feb 23rd. But until then I am trying to get back into my running.

Today I did:

2 mile-run

1 mile of 5x1:00 at a faster pace.

I walked a minute in between each of them to let my heartrate go back down.

1 mile of walk/ run.


I was feeling okay. I did notice my body was a little tired from being sick and just not being able to run for a week and a half. I am getting a little faster on my miles. I started at about 15 minutes/mile but now I am about 13:30-14:00 minutes/mile. So that is good.

Also, I have lost 15 pounds since I started running. And I am still losing!!! I am excited. When I see that I am losing it is easier to control what I eat! My pants are getting so big on me! But I don't want to buy anything new just yet.

Melissa!!! Yay yay yay!!! So glad you're feeling better and 15 pounds??? That's great. So no new clothes until when?? Come on......just one new little something. Sure helps me to feel better!! ;o)

Oh, and you've inspired Steve and I to train for a 5K. And another couple that we know. So here's to nothing. Steve has been great at it but I haven't started running yet. Not until wednesday. I'll let you know how it goes.
