2.5 Miles

I just ran 2.5 miles straight! I was having a hard time these last 2 weeks trying to get there but tonight I finally did it.
Stats: 2.5 miles
Time: 33:25
Speed: 4.5

Last week, I only ran twice. Tuesday I ran 2.2 miles and could not make it any farther. Then, while I was in Utah I went to the rec center and ran but did not do so well. The altitude was killing me. It is 1200 ft higher there and I definetly felt it. So, that day was a walk/run day. I did about 2.5 miles but not straight running. Which was very frustrating. I also ate a ton of candy, pasta, and breads that week so that did not help the weight loss. Last monday, I had loss 10 lbs but this week I am only down 7 lbs.

Good thing New Years is this Thursday! Because that means that there is no more holidays for awhile. Not that I don't LOVE the holidays, it just is so hard for me during them because I love all the goodies!!!

So here are my Healthy New Years Resolutions:

1. Run/Exercise at least 3 times a week

2. Portion Control-need I say more

3. Eat less sugar, white breads and pastas. And MORE veggies and fruits.

4. Become Healthy(hopefully so I can become pregnant)

5. And sometime during the year, I would love to run a 10k race and maybe try a mini-triathalon.

There you have it! New Years is always a good starting point and luckily I have already kick started my goals. I feel invigorated when I finish my runs each night. Even when I have not been able to finish my run, I try not to beat myself up over it because sometimes your body just needs a rest.

What are you goals for 2009?

Have a HAPPY and HEALTHY New Year!!

Good job Melissa! I am so proud of you...I am sort of dreading New Years cause it seems like I never get around to my goals, but mine are pretty similar to yours. Work out at least 3 times a week, and hopefully be able to catch up with you and be able to run 2.5 miles!

Atta girl Meliss.......!! I'm so motivated by your motivation. YAY!!! I think I'll start running again. I started running again a few months ago but it was too soon after having Connor......my joints and everything weren't back to normal and my knees were KILLING me. Weird. Maybe when we get home, I'll start running again. I want to do it with you. Thanks for the help!

Have you ever tried a cleanse?
I have heard that a lot of people have pregnancy success after a full body cleanse. It also helps with weight loss to detox your body. And hopefully get your womanly organs working correctly.

Good job on 2.5 Mi. !!!!!!!!
I got up to 2 mi. right before I got pregnant. It's harder than you'd think!!!!
Good for you! You are amazing!

Woo hoo! Great job on your 2.5! I think a mini triathlon is a fantastic idea. I think that sound SO fun, but unfortunately I can swim worth beans. (I can doggie paddle, though). You would have so much fun since that is your strong suit!
I'm so proud of you Meliss. Love you.
